The Hidden Consumer


I cannot buy food in a grocery store.


I began to understand the depths of the food and packing industries as I went on my journey to discover what food and packaging were making me sick. I also learned how little we, the general population, know about food production of our shelf-stable foods.


Long ago we were taught to avoid eating sick animals and sick plants. Today all the food in the grocery stores is solely based on you eating sick animals and sick plants. Our problem with food quality goes beyond manufacturing ingredients and right into poor farming practices that are based on industrial and business standards not health, environment, or even animal husbandry standards.


The research is showing that our food is making us sick. Conditions from inflammation and chronic pain to kidney failure are linked to the food we eat. The number of people under the age of 40 with kidney failure is astronomical. Roughly 37 million people (about twice the population of New York) are in different stages of kidney failure.


What this means is there are new target markets being ignored by companies. These target markets are estimated to be leaving a minimum of $19 Billion in sales on the table each year. The Hidden Consumeris a journey from where it all began for me to how my company, Hidden Consumers Consulting, came into existence. I also cover why these groups are so important and why they are never going away.


As you read, think about what food you eat. Do you have constant reactions after eating? Is it time to start tracking what you eat and your reactions to food? One of the many health issues I faced that were caused by food intolerances was IBS and Eczema. It blew my mind that taking out my allergen would also remove meds I was taking for treatment. I also learned I was allergic to all medications, so there is also that.


If you are part of the lucky minority who don’t suffer illness from food, read this with an open mind. My guess is you have at least two people around you that suffer from food related illnesses. I hope you can read about my experiences to understand what someone close to you has had to endure.

My journety to writing this book has been over a decade. As I move forward to take acation and make a postive impact in the world around me, I knew it was time to put my journey on paper.


My business background spans over 3 decades. I started in retail and could trun a failing store into a profitable business in under 2 years. I can write copy and design user flow for websites that generate a 1100% increase in qualified traffic.


I bring all of this together on my mission to help make grocery shopping safe for everyone and to help companies attract the elusive and hidden untapped markets.
